Many people are daily annoyed by receiving birthday notifications on Facebook.
Seeing a red tag on your notification section on Facebook makes you feel like there is a significant notice from a friend, relative or co-worker. Then it comes to the disappointing moment when you click on the drop-down menu imaged as globe and what you see is another birthday reminder. There are also quite a lot of people that have 1000+ friends on Facebook, and it seems like sending them 3-4 birthday notifications every day is irritating. So they constantly try to turn these notifications off. Some users are so annoyed with this kind of pointless for them notifications that even take an action to delete their Facebook account.
How Can Facebook Notifications Be Turned Off?
It is pretty simple for the desktop version of Facebook. You just need to:

1. Go to the Facebook top blue bar, click on the pointer that’s rightmost and opens the main action Menu and then select Settings.
2. When you are on the Settings page, click Notifications on the left sidebar.
3. In the section “What you get notified about” click Edit for Birthdays and select Off from the drop-down menu.
If you want to turn off notifications from your phone the steps are:

1. Go to the Facebook top blue bar click on the rightmost icon to open the main Menu then find division Help & Settings and select Account Settings.
2. Select section Notifications.
3. In the section “What you get notified about” click Birthdays and unmark Get Notifications.

1. Go to the Facebook top blue bar click on the rightmost icon to open the main Menu then from division Settings select Settings.
2. Find section Notifications and click on it.
3. In the section “What you get notified about” click Birthdays and unmark Get Notifications.
Is It Possible to Turn off Birthday Notifications?
Although there is an option provided by Facebook settings to disable birthday notifications, the response on the question is it possible to turn off them is quite inconsistent.
Facebook Help Team gave polite answer explaining that you may see a birthday notification on your homepage if your friends have chosen to share their birthday on their timeline. The Team advised to give them feedback on how you would like birthday notifications of this kind to work with your account.
Notifying Friends for Your Birthday
Further, if you don’t want your birthday shows as a notification to all of your friends:

1. Go to your profile and click on Update Info button on your cover photo.
2. Select Contact and Basic Info at the left sidebar.
3. Slide down and select Edit next to Birth Date or Birth Year
4. You can adjust the audience either for the day and month or the year from the two audience selectors. If you decide not to share the day and month with your friends, they will no longer get notification about your upcoming birthday.
5. Click Save Changes
Though if you still wish to know whose birthday is today or in recent days you could do simply this:

1. In the left column of your homepage select Events and you will see all upcoming events as well as birthdays.
