Teens Can Help

What Can You Do In Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Take a voice to the cause…You can make a difference

  • Join a local advocacy board are action committee. There may be more people just like you who could use the help.
  • Become a peer educator. It is a great way for you to talk to other teens about teen pregnancy prevention.
  • Write an article for your school newspaper about the consequences of teen pregnancy. Or even better do an interview with a teen parent to get a real perspective on their life.
  • Develop a youth forum at your school or community center to allow tens to talk about teen pregnancy and come up with ideas on how to prevent teens from getting pregnant.
  • Volunteer as a mentor at a nearby elementary school. You can help a student achieve better grades and at the same time become a role model for that student. Yeah…you may not be discussing teen pregnancy with them, but by helping them achieve academic success you are helping them increase their self-esteem and reducing their risk of getting pregnant.
