Join a local advocacy board are action committee. There may be more people just like you who could use the help.
Become a peer educator. It is a great way for you to talk to other teens about teen pregnancy prevention.
Write an article for your school newspaper about the consequences of teen pregnancy. Or even better do an interview with a teen parent to get a real perspective on their life.
Develop a youth forum at your school or community center to allow tens to talk about teen pregnancy and come up with ideas on how to prevent teens from getting pregnant.
Volunteer as a mentor at a nearby elementary school. You can help a student achieve better grades and at the same time become a role model for that student. Yeah…you may not be discussing teen pregnancy with them, but by helping them achieve academic success you are helping them increase their self-esteem and reducing their risk of getting pregnant.
